On May 5th, 2025, I had the privilege of guiding Beth and Tom—an American couple with a spark in their hearts—on their Isle of Skye honeymoon tour. After eloping to Scotland to tie the knot, they chose the rugged beauty of Skye to celebrate. What followed was a day filled with joy, stunning scenery, and a surprise reveal.
A Journey from Inverness to Skye
We began the day in Inverness, where I picked them up from their hotel. From the moment they stepped into the car, it was clear this would be special. The weather was on our side—Skye greeted us with sunshine. We stopped at scenic viewpoints, capturing drone footage and snapshots that would become lifelong memories.
A Choice of Adventure: The Old Man of Storr
On our one-day Skye tours, guests choose to hike the Old Man of Storr, the Fairy Pools, or the Quiraing. Beth and Tom picked the Old Man of Storr, and the hike was magnificent. The views were breathtaking, and their smiles were even brighter. It was one of those rare days when everything felt just right.
The Sligachan Bridge: A Video Reveal
The highlight of the day came at the historic Sligachan Bridge. There, we created a video—using drone shots and footage from the day—that Beth and Tom would send back home. This video became their big reveal: showing their friends and family that they had eloped and married on Skye. It was a moment of pure joy and creativity.
Connecting Journeys: From Beth & Tom to Joshua & Rianna
This was the first—but not the last—honeymoon I’ve had the honour of guiding. Just last week, I welcomed Joshua and Rhianna on their own adventure across Skye. Beth and Tom’s day came first, setting the tone… a story of love, exploration, and the quiet magic that makes the Misty Isle unforgettable.
