The name Hebrides is believed to come from the Old Norse ‘Havbredey’, which loosely translates to ‘The Islands on the Edge of the World’...
...which is how the vikings perceived the layout of the land to have been during their four hundred year occupancy on The Western Isles, from the ninth century onwards. Seven centuries later, what better title for Luke Skye-Walker to name an adventure tour than ‘Edge of the World Tour’. This is a tour that goes beyond the guide books and encapsulates Luke’s experience and passion of touring the Isle of Skye and the Inner Hebrides.
The ‘Edge of the World Tour’ adds a touch of intrigue by including a mystery itinerary, a map and decisions to be made by you. This is to give you options every step of the way that will personalise your adventure through all four corners and beyond of this dramatic and beautiful island. It is certain to guarantee you a once in a lifetime Scottish experience into one of Europe’s last great wildernesses.
You will embark on:
• otherworldly hikes and visit ‘off the beaten path’ viewpoints rarely discovered by the tourists.
• traverse seas surrounding the Isle of Skye by Ferries and RHIB boats in search of unique Sealife.
• visit two neighbouring islands
• learning about all the history in the local area …and of course whisky.
You will spend two nights on Skye. Luke can provide you with his knowledge of accommodation that suits your requirements and advise the very best places to eat on the island. This tour has also been designed to be flexible, giving you the option to finish your adventure in either Inverness, Glasgow or Edinburgh.
Luke, who is also an experienced photographer will provide you with 3 days of photography at key locations including some taken by drone, allowing you to live in the moment and enjoy every breathtaking sight and sound of the Isle of Skye and beyond.
