The Luke Tours Story

I’ve been shaping Luke Tours on social media since my journey began with Timberbush Tours, where I was fortunate to connect with lots of amazing people over two seasons on the Isle of Skye. I loved my time on the big bus tours but ultimately the online reviews I was receiving about the deep connections I was making with people inspired me to launch Luke Tours and craft a more personal and immersive small-group experience.

The one-day big bus tours provide a glimpse, but 6 hours on breathtaking Skye at the busy tourist spots isn’t sufficient to truly experience and connect with the real environment. As a passionate guide it bothered me that visitors don’t see most of the island and only had moments for distant photos, this is what drove me to create a unique and memorable two day adventure that includes hiking up close to these stunning wonders, fostering a lasting connection.

Isle of Skye Tour of Dreams has so many amazing experiences, the hiking locations takes us to ethereal places, the journey on the ferry is so remote in the Scottish wilderness and being a small group we can really get to the heart of these wonderful communities.

My goal is for visitors to fall in love with Skye as I have, getting off the beaten path and discovering what Scotland has to offer in the most authentic way possible, while maybe even forging new lifelong connections on the way.

Aberdeen Stole my heart too!

I have lived on Skye and in Aberdeenshire now for the past 10 years since moving to Scotland from London. In my spare time I love football, running, hiking and anything outdoors really, I’m also dad to two great kids and my Boston Terrier Lyla.

I’m based on Skye during the summer months, I then return to Aberdeenshire during the winter months. One day I will move to Skye permanently but at the moment I love the balance of my work and home life and miss both places for different reasons when I’m away.

Aberdeen is also great, Scotland’s third largest city and in my opinion gets slightly overlooked in favour of Edinburgh, but it’s home to one of the most famous castles in Scotland, has a great music scene, art galleries, a royal theatre, interesting architecture, history, and of course its turbulent relationship with the sea, oil and gas. It has great transport links to London, Edinburgh and not to mention it being home to Balmoral and the Cairngorms.

I also have a tour in Aberdeen which is available to book throughout the winter months when I am back home, I also have an AirB&B at my property so if you are planning on visiting Aberdeen between November and March feel free to get in touch and I will be pleased to put together a package deal for you.

I hope you will join me on my local tour during the winter months, I am also available for private hire if you would like a bespoke tour that takes in maybe Royal Deeside or one of the ten distilleries in Aberdeenshire.

Below is a glimpse of a less-travelled area of Scotland, not too far north of Aberdeen, as you can see there are many reasons join me in Aberdeenshire during the winter months.

The man behind it all

Music, Photography & Scotland

Music, production and photography are big passions. I am also a professional photographer, qualified drone pilot and have worked for BBC Scotland, Scottish Water and the BAAFTA Awards on the Isle of Skye.

Previously to that I was a professional DJ for 20 years winning ‘Wedding DJ of the Year’ in London in 2015, 2017 and 2018. I also DJ’d in Ibiza during the summer of 2018 before touring the North Coast 500 road trip in Scotland which ultimately led to me changing everything about my life to begin my Scottish adventure.

Being a tour guide is the ultimate job, it combines all my passions – photography, hiking, entertaining, music, production and of course Scotland.
